French Riviera | St Tropez, Nice & Cannes

July 10th - 13th

After leaving Marseille we drove 2 hours along the French Riviera to St Tropez, where we tried to spot celebrities on the yachts and wandered around the old town of St Tropez with its cobbled hilly streets which were simply beautiful, we preferred the old town to the glitz of the harbour.

We could see the up and coming St Maxime across the water whilst in St Tropez and then drove through it as we continued on our way to Nice

Then another 2 hour journey (slower in busy traffic) to Nice where we would base ourselves for the next two days whilst we visited the surrounding areas. Basing ourselves in Nice was done on purpose as places like near by Monaco were far more expensive to stay.

At night we took a wander around a square filled with bustling eateries, and I had this yummy dessert.

Next up was Cannes, which unfortunately wasn't either glitzy or glamourous, it was an average seaside resort, the theatre which the celebs attend for the film festival had a tacky worn out red carpet covered in fallen leaves. Anyway glad we seen it, and will look forward to watching the film festival on TV in years to come.

After a trip to Monaco (read in next blog) it was time to move on to our next country, Italy. As we drove up and out we were treated to spectacular views of the French Riviera and the Cote d'azur...
