River valley is good for activities such as horse riding and jet boats but we didn't fancy either of those so we had the morning free until the few that had went, returned. It was a long drive today- 5 hours to Wellington. Stopped off at a place named 'Bulls'. Renamed in the 80s after an increase of human transgenders happened, a university study/experiment was tested on bulls to see if they could lactate and therefore it could work on human male to females, the study was a success and the town became famous and proud so changed it's name. They even changed names of places and items throughout their town- such as bins called 'recyca-bull' or 'Cure-a-bull' for the medical centre, the best being 'consta-bulls' the name of the police station!
We arrived in Wellington late afternoon and headed up the long walk to the top of Mount Victoria, where we seen scenery from Lord of the Rings and got stunning panoramic views of Wellington- the country's capital.
Then we went to 'Te Papa' museum which was great, we learned about volcanoes and the earth and went inside an earthquake house and got tossed about. We also watched at 3D film about a colossal squid then we seen it, Shan remembers watching on the news a few years back when it was found. It was huuuge!
